This notice explains what personal information AAA Roofing Ltd collects through this website, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have. We keep it short and plain: we only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and look after your roof.

What we collect

When you send us a quote request, a RoofCare enquiry or a message through the website, we collect what you type into the form:

your name and phone number
your email address, if you give it
your postcode or property postcode
what you need doing, and anything else you choose to tell us about your roof
for RoofCare enquiries, whether AAA fitted your roof, your roof type and the membership you are interested in

If you arrived from an advert or a link with a campaign tag, the form also records that tag (for example “facebook” or “google”) so we know which adverts work. It does not identify you.

If you phone or email us, we keep a note of the call or the email and the details you give us.

How we use it, and why we are allowed to

To answer your enquiry, arrange a survey and send you a quote. This is a step you have asked us to take before any contract, which UK data protection law allows.
To carry out and guarantee the work, and to run your RoofCare membership if you go ahead. This is necessary for our contract with you.
To keep business, tax and guarantee records, which the law and our guarantees require.

We do not sell your information, use it for automated decisions about you, or add you to marketing lists. We will only contact you about your enquiry, your work or your membership.

Where it is kept and who sees it

Each enquiry is saved securely in our website’s admin area and emailed to our office inbox. Only AAA Roofing staff who need it to deal with your enquiry or your work can see it.

We use a small number of trusted companies to run the website and our email, and they handle the information only on our instructions:

Namecheap, which hosts this website
Google, which provides our email (Gmail)

Some of these companies may store or process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law. We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not go ahead: 2 years from your last contact with us, then deleted.
Customer and job records: 6 years after the work is finished, or until your guarantee ends if that is later, then deleted.
RoofCare members: for as long as you are a member, then as for customer records.

Cookies and content from other sites

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you around the internet. WordPress only sets cookies for our own staff when they log in to manage the site.

When you start a quote on the homepage, your browser briefly remembers what you chose so the next step is filled in for you. This stays on your device and is cleared when you close the tab.

To show our Google reviews and our fonts, your browser loads some files directly from Google and from Trustindex, the service that displays the reviews. Like any website, those companies receive your device’s IP address when this happens. Links to our Instagram, Facebook, Google, Checkatrade, TrustMark and NFRC pages take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

give you a copy of the information we hold about you
correct anything that is wrong
delete your information, where we do not need to keep it by law
stop or limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
send your information to you or to another company in a usable format

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

Keeping it safe

The website uses an encrypted (https) connection, enquiries are stored behind a password-protected admin area, and only the people who need your details can see them.

We will update this page if the way we use information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
